Cathelco Property inherited the Troon Shipyard from another Group company after shipbuilding activities ceased. Various avenues were explored including redevelopment of the site. Ultimately, the most attractive property solution was to lease the entire site to Associated British Ports as an expansion site for their port facility serving the fast ferry to Northern Ireland. The long lease was subsequently sold to a private investor.
